Welcome to Gosforth Harriers & AC Established 1927

We are a friendly local club for runners of all abilities.
We have junior and adult sections and provide training and competitive opportunities.

If you are interested in joining Gosforth Harriers please attend a couple of training sessions free of charge before making your decision.

We do ask that you are able to run a minimum of 4-5 miles at 10 minute mile pace or better. This is about the average distance we cover in our training sessions – which includes a warm up and warm down.

We meet for training sessions throughout the week, please have a look at our training schedule to see which sessions would suit you best. https://gosforthharriers.com/training

Speak to one of our club captains or group leaders before the start of the session so we can give you a brief introduction to the club and put you in the right speed group for the run

If you have already attended a couple of training sessions and want to join Gosforth Harriers , please complete the online form https://gosforthharriers.com/register

If you have any questions please get in touch at admin@gosforth-harriers.org

Junior Membership

If your child is interested in joining the juniors please e-mail admin@gosforthharriers.org

Gosforth Harriers Juniors Section is a fun and popular part of the club – as a result we have a lot of demand from new young athletes – there could be a waiting list when you enquire, depending on age group.

You may want to know, in advance, if your youngster is going to be able to keep up when they do join and for this we would encourage regular attendance at Parkrun.

If they can complete a Junior Parkrun, and include any history of similar school events, then they will be in a stronger position on joining. A Junior Parkrun is 2k (1.25 miles).

We recommend a few training sessions for your child to try our training to make sure that they enjoy the sessions. They can then decide whether or not they wish to join the club – we would usually suggest that they attend 2 to 3 weeks before making a decision.

The Juniors Section athletes are 8 to 17 years old (after which they move to the Seniors at 18).
